Description
Dharma by Taylor O’Sullivan captures a single king oyster mushroom photographed at an eco resort on the island of Koh Kood, Thailand. The retreat cultivated mushrooms beneath shaded wooden structures as part of its organic farm, which supplied the surrounding kitchen and restaurant.
While on assignment, photographing and filming the property, O’Sullivan was struck by the sculptural beauty of this single king oyster mushroom. Afternoon light filtered through the canopy above, illuminating the mushroom’s cap while allowing the background to fall into shadow.
The composition is built around simplicity and balance. The texture becomes almost painterly, while the elegant curves recall the movement of a cresting wave. The title Dharma references alignment and path. One of the foundational works of the CULTERRA collection, the piece often resonates with collectors who are drawn to minimal composition, organic abstraction, and the transformation of overlooked natural details into enduring works of art.
