Exceptional Finely Carved Marble Buddha

This marble Buddha features intricate carved details, an ornate nimbus headrest which is a symbol of his enlightenment and spiritual power. The necklace around the Buddha’s neck is often made of prayer beads or other sacred objects and serves as a symbol of protection and spiritual guidance. It also shows wrinkles and foldings along the rope which was part of the Buddha’s attire. This antique Chinese sculpture would have been placed in public temples, likely shown at a monastery altar.
